Our Motto

"Arabians bred to perform and look good doing it!"

Our History

Comanche Lodge was founded out of a love of horses and a desire to share that love. The name was derived from a line of Standardbred pacers that Bruce owned and raced. Bruce raced his 'trotters' and I showed my Arab at the regional Agricultural shows.

The opportunity came to acquire an Arabian stallion, a half brother to three extraordinary performance horses. Silver Wind Van Nina, a pure Crabbet son of the mare Ronina and stallion Silver Conquest came into our lives and the breeding plans of Comanche Lodge were begun.

Our Mission Statement

  • Comanche Lodge was started with the idea that we could share the love we have found in our horses with others.
  • The services we offer are our way of spreading the joy of ownership of Arabian horses.
  • Our aim is to enable others to share the lifestyle we enjoy.
  • Within this aim we wish to ensure the future of the Crabbet Arabian.

Our Vision

Comanche Lodge will be the stud of choice to acquire an Arabian or Arabian bred performance horse.

Welcome to Comanche Lodge Print E-mail

brucejanice.jpgBruce, Janice and Michael O'Connor welcome you to the webpages of Comanche Lodge. We breed purebred Arabians and Arabian derivatives that grace show rings, performance arenas, endurance trails, pony clubs and family backyards and become a treasured part of the family.

Our horses are predominantly Crabbet with the bloodlines of Somerled, Silver Moonlight*, Silver Fire, Electric Silver*, Grand Royal*, Silwan*, Sindh*, Riffal*, Crystal Fire* and Skowronek. Principle Strain line - Kehilan Dajania.

We have a nucleus of Pure Crabbet Arabians began with the stallion Silver Wind Van Nina through which we plan to preserve and continue the quality and standard of the arabians bred at the world famous Crabbet Park in England.

The farm is situated on 40 acres of grazing land in the Lockyer Valley in South East Queensland, Australia, one hour west from Brisbane along the Warrego Highway and a half hour from Toowoomba, with easy access on sealed roads.

Our horses are trained and shown at halter, under saddle and in harness and have the bloodlines, confirmation and attitude required for success in endurance. We occassionally have youngstock for sale.
